Perfection is overrated

One of the things that holds a writer back from establish a strong presence is the idea that everything must be perfect.

No one expects a fully polished website that looks like it took a team of designers nine years to create. Good enough is often plenty.

One reason we feel like we must make our platform perfect is the nagging doubt that we are fakes. That is completely normal. This feeling is called impostor syndrome.

You should be making mistakes

If you do not – at occasionally – make mistakes then you are probably not thinking big enough. If need be, embrace the necessary mess of creating something and just get started.

Give yourself permission to fail and you will find yourself reaching new heights. Failure is not fatal. It is not the end of the world if something does not pan out. Just rethink, reload, and approach things from a new perspective.
